Skin Sapiens
Skin Sapiens is the brainchild of James Jardella who wanted skincare products for his newborn son to be sustainably sourced and free from artificial ingredients, good for baby, good for you and good for the planet. Suitable for all skin types including sensitive.
The brief was to create the brand identity and packaging design for this new skincare range, aiming to bring greater transparency to the beauty industry. The Skin Sapiens name implies knowledge and humanity.
The identity is, like the product, edited, pared down, and pure in form. The SAPIENS ‘I’, sitting symmetrically below the ‘I’ in SKIN, works as a built-in navigator, directing you to the product.
The packaging design aims to be equally as distinctive in its simplicity. Back of pack product information is showcased on the front. Tone is friendly and transparent, with a colour palette inspired by mineral shades found in nature. The packs made entirely from recycled British drinks bottles, are pale enough to be recycled themselves.
