Art Athina
Kissing, laughing, screaming, yawning, whistling, and bubble-blowing… Our mouths are for much more than just talking and tasting.
From Marilyn Monroe’s Lips by Andy Warhol to Gerhard Richter’s painting of Brigitte Bardot’s pout and the Rolling Stones’ Hot Lips logo, the mouth is an archetypal symbol for self-expression and desire. It is the conduit for our breath, our psyche, our language, our intellect, and our creativity.
For the much-talked-about international art fair ART ATHINA, we designed a dynamic campaign that is an ode to the mouth — the human feature that has been hidden more than any other in the pandemic years.
A series of oversized, colourful lips emphatically convey a spirit of optimism. Bold and easy-to-read typography communicates information with clarity and immediacy.
