Lantun henki

Lantun henki is a book by photographer Touko Hujanen and writer-philosopher Antti Salminen. They have been documenting for years the materially nearly independent lives of Lasse Nordlund and his family in Valtimo, Eastern Finland. Besides the photographic work, the book features fragmented texts based on interviews with Lasse Nordlund. 

The ornaments on the cover and the book title are early 20th century metal and wood types, printed in letter-press and scanned. The types belong to the collection of graphic designer Ilkka Kärkkäinen, with whom the printing was done in collaboration.
