The company schlafgut has been producing fitted sheets since 1952 and stands for a new kind of sleep culture. And for an attitude that goes far beyond the aesthetics and functionality of their products. They love good sleep, they love good design, and they want to do good - from feeling super while sleeping to the look of their Sleeping Essentials to being responsible for people and the planet. The requirement for the rebranding of the company schlafgut was to find a new language - a clear concept that combines the sense of tradition of an established family business with the vision/mission of Max Moedinger (great-grandson of the founder and head of business development): "Clean up, upgrade and sustainability." As a result, the size and color system was designed to be clear and simple, and the entire brand presence was redesigned - a minimalist design as an antithesis to fast fashion. From packaging to digital channels to newly conceived solutions for the POS: with a reduced look, perfect usability and lots of ideas around contemporary sleep culture, the company is heading towards the future. When it comes to packaging in the textile industry, plastic is unfortunately still the sad standard. schlafgut is actively working against this and thus wanted to be one of the first manufacturers in the home & living sector to banish the polybag from their packaging. Together with the industrial- and product-design studio "Zanzotti" we have developed a modular and sustainable packaging. This consists of a base box developed by us especially for the requirements of distribution and shipping made of 100% recycled material or even zero-waste in the sense of the circular economy. Based on recycled paper waste from the region, this box generates neither waste nor toxins and uses very little water. Depending on the product group, the box is extended by a banderole or slipcase. Thus, the main assortment of the company, i.e. fitted sheets and also bed linen find their place in this modular system. A little glimpse into the future: they will think the topic of sleep much further!
