Keep training

For REHAB, a physiotherapy centre focusing on rehabilitation, we designed a series of cards that explore the brain’s remarkable ability to adapt and learn, a prerequisite to self-healing. Based on the scientific premise that healing is initiated in the brain, which has served as the Centre's ongoing promotional concept, we composed messages made of scrambled letters and numbers*. At first, the messages are incomprehensible. But as the brain reads on, it learns how to decode the new reality, and make the impossible, possible. REHAB Centre caters to a variety of patients and rehabilitation regimes. To accommodate specific groups and therapies, we designed four exercise cards, each with its own motivational message and corresponding rehabilitation progress chart.

* Phonological recoding is how our brains learn to read. When we see a word, our brain retrieves the associated sound from memory and maps it to the word. This allows us to decode a word, even if the spelling is flawed.
