Nachhaltig drucken - Gestaltung umweltgerechter Druckprojekte

For a basic book on sustainability in print production, all the stops were also pulled out in the design.

Form and content become a coherent unit and confirm the basic idea of the book: the most important course for sustainability is already set in the conception phase and a decision is made as to whether the work will have a "want-to-have" character. The cover is made with a vegan apple leather and FSC-certified cellulose linen. The format was chosen so that 50 pages fit on one printed sheet. Four different printing processes, four print finishes and 18 different sustainable papers inspire creativity and allow you to literally grasp what you have learnt.

Carefully designed diagrams, overviews and checklists allow a quick access to profound knowledge.

The book itself was printed on the highest ecological standards and all production factors, such as the number of colours, were optimised to conserve resources. The entire production process caused fewer emissions per copy than a two-minute hot shower.

Clearly legible, differentiated typography throughout the book separates the different design levels. This can be seen impressively on some of the digitally printed black and white pages.

A laser-engraved bookmark made of grass cardboard adds the scent of hay and meadow to the reading pleasure. The round punched corners make the entire compendium more than just a book on sustainable printing but a hand-flattering multi-sensory experience.
