Poemotion

The shapes that determine a sequentially organised typographic glyph constantly mediate our relationship with reality and our ability to interpret or understand it, sometimes concealing, sometimes revealing apparently hidden meanings. With 'poemotion', the 2023 calendar designed for and with Antezza Tipografi, the intention was to pay homage to the literary work of Toti Scialoja, his extravagant nursery rhymes for adults, his linguistic games and his metrics promoting unpredictable juxtapositions that are always based on an animal, according to the traditional process of anthropomorphism of fairy tales. The strict linguistic rules underlying Scialoja's compositions are translated into a typographic language of radical, abstract, modular forms, symbolising how even behind a nursery rhyme it is actually possible to carefully glimpse a much deeper meaning.

There are two ways and two times through which the new calendar can be decoded. A first traditional reading focuses on the static composition, on the expressive typography, while a second interactive one exploits a dynamic composition in augmented reality that, thanks to the free "ntz ai" application, allows the observer to discover the characters that are the protagonists of the stories.

A double level to restore that same adult/child duality that distinguishes the literary production of this artist known to most as a painter but with an equally distinctive poetic talent.
