Studio website

At CLEVER°FRANKE we create and design data-driven experiences. Based on this, our website is built to showcase our projects and skills through a meaningful and captivating experience, while also providing insight into our process, collaborative approach, and expertise in data visualization. 

Due to the nature of our work in data design, we wanted to look into novel ideas to give our website a data-driven twist. Since this website serves as a portfolio showcasing our projects with a lot of visual information, we gathered the color information of each image displayed within our projects as a dataset. This gave us an opportunity to create our own overarching 'C°F color palette', and make a simple portfolio image come to life in multiple ways using its color data.

So, the website doesn’t just list our services and the projects we’ve worked on, but offers an alternative way to dive into our work. The interactive color cloud on our homepage, while playful, is also an example of the data-driven work we do as a studio: each color is generated from a project image we have on the website. This color dataset also informs more minute details on the website to create a coherent experience. For instance, the loading treemap animations are each a separate data visualization of their own. These animations provide visual feedback and serve a logical purpose, while also adding a touch of surprise.

Our interactive color cloud, page transitions, and microinteractions such as hover states craft a consistent and immersive user experience. We prioritize strong attention to detail, a reflection of our data-driven and problem-solving design philosophy: we analyze large amounts of data provided by our clients to identify the most powerful story they can tell to reach their goals, and then we shape it into a joyful and insightful result.
