Pires and Turner Escolha 2022

Pires & Turner Escolha is a Vinho Verde (green, or young wine) born in Baião, in the southeast part of the demarcated Vinho Verde Region, at the heart of the Douro valley.

In the predominantly granite soil of Quinta de Alvites, under the influence of the river and resisting the cold of winter and the intense heat of summer, the Avesso grape variety evolves to reveal a particular freshness and minerality. Overlooking the river, 300 meters above sea level, Quinta de Alvites vineyards inspired the Pires & Turner Escolha label. 

In its design, the profile of the land is combined with the name of the project, founded by Becky Turner and João Pires. 

The simplified geometry of the terraces embraces a “metric hyphenation” of the name Pires & Turner, enhancing a contemporary attitude towards this iconic feature of Douro vineyards.
