The Doctor

"The Doctor," a theatrical adaptation of Arthur Schnitzler's 1912 play "Professor Bernardi," unfolded its gripping narrative on December 8 at the Amfi-Theatro. Under the meticulous direction of Katerina Evagelatos, this rendition of Robert Icke's award-winning thriller of ideas delivers an explosive exploration of conflicting perspectives on self and the world.

This intelligent and multi-prismatic production navigates moral quandaries, compelling viewers to challenge stereotypes and confront their own preconceptions. Addressing issues of gender, origin, social class, religion, and sexuality, along with the automatic associations and "labels" accompanying them, "The Doctor" engages in a breathtaking play of multiple roles and identities on the stage.

In crafting the poster for "The Doctor," visual communication takes center stage, employing photography as a primary medium through the lens of a kaleidoscope. This visual metaphor symbolizes the narrative's complexity by offering diverse perspectives to the viewer, while simultaneously forming a harmonious and intricate composition upon first glance.

The poster's design features segmented photographs, coexisting harmoniously yet sharply separated to emphasize details. This deliberate separation enhances the overall sense of the complex and polymorphic composition, mirroring the intricate narrative of the play. The typography, positioned at the center, maintains simplicity, allowing the viewer time to contemplate each section of the poster and comprehend the sense of distorted reality translated into the theatrical production
