Burocratik.com—18 years in the making.
Our brand-new site cements Büro’s place on the design swagger board—clean without being boring, edgy without trying too hard. It’s a full dive into our studio’s visual identity and technology, beyond just design and portfolio—code, audio, visuals, motion, and interaction—working seamlessly to showcase our work.
We build brands for digital—it’s our core. But few companies allow their brand identity to break the rules and truly play. This is our space, our identity, our rules. So, we did exactly what we preach.
The brand universe we crafted:
▀ Typeface. We worked with Commercial Type to customize Gräphik, shifting it slightly toward grotesk with refined numbers and glyphs. We also built in our own emoji set for extra storytelling.
▀ Design. Swiss, clean, and grid-driven. Our site translates classic modernist grid systems into a browser experience. To avoid predictability, we layered in simple shapes—lines, dots, and glyphs—as an interactive language. The entire visual system avoids anti-aliasing for a raw, punk feel.
▀ Audio. Most websites ignore sound. Not here. Audio is a sense, and we use it. The UX concept? Scatter sound across the site so interactions form custom custom compositions—full tracks later released on vinyl.
▀ Code. Lines trigger notes in Studios, dots in Recognition, glyphs in Work—this isn’t background music, it’s WebGL-powered, math-driven audio. Every object interacts with the dots in real time. As you scroll, each line plays a note, intentionally leaving silence in between—a contrast to the reel’s fast pace, creating a detox effect before the absence of music ahead. Be gentle with the nipple statue—it’s part of our legacy.
▀ Reel. A video-first interaction, showcasing our work as an extension of the brand.
▀ The böt. A navigation bot, located on the menubar, gives context to what’s on screen. It’s not AI—it’s a human pretending to think like a machine. Complicated.
▀ 404 game. Because getting lost should be fun.
At its core, this site is Büro in its purest form—bold, experimental, and unapologetically ourselves. Each case study showcases how we elevate brands on digital and paves the way for the next ones: those who value risk, craft, and pushing beyond the expected.
