Vincent Must Die

A poster for the French film Vincent Must Die, directed by Stéphan Castang. The film tells the story of a man who triggers uncontrollable aggression in everyone he encounters. Vincent endures physical violence and constant attacks. It is a dark comedy with elements of surrealism.

I approached the poster design as if I myself had flown into a rage at the sight of the main character and wanted to kill him. I repeatedly stabbed a paper print of his image with a pen, which I then used to write the film’s title. This aggressive process is reflected in the visual character of the poster.

The project was very well received by the distributor, the audience, the director, and the design community. Stefan Sagmeister—a legend in global design—shared the poster on his Instagram profile. The project won the Grand Prize in its category as well as The Best of Design award in the KTR (Club of Advertising Creators) competition.
