Nest Into Nature

https://www.woodnest.no/

Woodnest is a collection of architect-designed treehouses in Odda, suspended from living pine trees with panoramic views of the Hardangerfjord. Guests experience nature up close while enjoying the comfort of a hotel room, floating among the treetops. Designed by Helen & Hard, the cabins are built with minimal impact on their surroundings, clad in untreated wooden shingles that gradually blend into the forest. More than just a place to stay, Woodnest invites people to disconnect from daily life and reconnect with nature—where luxury is not about excess but about silence, simplicity, and presence.

To reflect this, Woodnest needed both a strong visual identity and a digital platform that extended the real-life experience. The goal was not just to create a booking tool but to design an online journey that mirrored the stay itself. The identity had to balance tradition with modern design, rawness with refinement, and ensure that the website felt like a natural gateway to the experience rather than just a sales-driven platform.

The design mirrors the way the cabins blend with nature. The website is deliberately restrained in its use of graphic elements, ensuring nothing distracts from the experience. Nowhere is this clearer than on the homepage, where full-screen images immerse visitors in the landscape before any booking details appear. By stepping back from traditional sales-focused layouts, the design gives nature and stillness room to breathe. It’s a carefully planned experience that feels like an organic discovery—guiding visitors without them realizing it.

At the heart of the identity is the logo: an uneven stroke growing like a pine trunk, surrounded by two curved lines forming the nest. The typography follows the same idea—organic and slightly irregular, as if grown from the logo itself. The color palette reflects the changing tones of the forest, shifting with the light and seasons to create something that feels natural and alive.

This approach has not only stayed true to the product but has also delivered real results. Woodnest proves that trusting the experience itself can be more effective than aggressive digital strategies—creating a brand that doesn’t shout for attention but naturally draws people in.
