Archive & The City

The infographic and data-visualisation project developed for the exhibition Archive & The City at the Venice Architecture Biennale explores new visual scenarios for representing and reorganising the vast historical archive of La Biennale di Venezia. Three large backlit data walls stand within the three portals along the nave of the Biennale headquarters. At either end, two smaller rooms create complementary experiences: one presents an engaging animated infographic; the other (shaped by months of selection work inside the archive) seeks to connect artefacts and trails of related materials embedded in the archival method itself, through physical objects and wall graphics. Three icons identify the three sections.
