Het Muntgebouw

Het Muntgebouw, the former Royal Dutch Mint, has been carefully restored and transformed into a contemporary, high-end building for work and leisure.

Drawing from the craftsmanship of the restoration, we commissioned a type designer to create bespoke numismatic typography on a circular baseline. Hand-drawn and digitised, the letterforms are inspired by the ‘Juliana Guilder’ coin series, once minted here by the millions. A milled-edge frame and a system of small, adaptable icons (referencing traditional mint marks) complete the identity.

The overall effect blends heritage with a modern, sophisticated aesthetic.
