Athens Epidaurus Festival 2025

Every year, the Athens Epidaurus Festival reveals a new visual identity, engaging in a dialogue with the themes of that season’s artistic program. For the institution’s 70th anniversary in 2025, a celebratory identity was created, highlighting the Festival’s timeless character and valuable cultural heritage, and above all, the decisive role of its people, who co-create the cultural experience.

The central creative idea is that for 70 years, people are the Festival’s driving force and its raison d'être: creators, contributors, and spectators – the audience. A living gathering of culture lovers who, every season, collectively re-create the shared experience of art.

The Festival’s history and legacy are revealed through images of its people. More than 70 original portraits were drawn by hand: a vibrant, colorful “audience,” including iconic figures – directors, actors, auteurs – as well as mythical creatures and theatrical characters, all of which make up the Festival’s history, and its essence. All these figures come together to form a living mosaic: a series of unique illustrations that also function as a dynamic graphic pattern, featured on the Festival’s main posters and across a wide range of applications.
