SKIN - Pavilion of Knowlegde
Environmental design project developed in partnership with the architect João Luís Carrilho da Graça, for a multipurpose room, the foyer of the Pavillion of Knowledge, a science museum in Lisbon, Portugal.
The intention, due to the versatility on the usage of space, was to create a texture for a perforated wall with acoustic and lightning purposes.
The theme, ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange)is an analogy to museum intents of sharing information.
By creating different texture densities with bigger or smaller cuts, acoustic percentages and the openings in the window areas of the rear rooms were controlled.
LED white lightning between the wall and the “skin” was balanced with natural light.
